<p>CHICAGO, IL - USA May 12th 2010 - Advertising Photographer Scott Bell of Mount Prospect, Illinois received an award of excellence at the Fort Dearborn- Chicago Photo Forum International Photography Competition 2010.<br />
<a href="http://scottthephotographer.com/?attachment_id=771"  rel="attachment wp-att-771"><img src="http://scottthephotographer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/bell_gobama-300x240.jpg" alt="bell_gobama" title="bell_gobama" width="300" height="240" class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-771" /></a><br />
Nearly 700 photographers from 16 countries participated in the International Photography Competition 2010 hosted by Fort Dearborn - Chicago Photo Forum. The top 30 images were selected by esteemed professionals in the photography industry - Michael Bilbrey, art buyer from world-renowned advertising agency Leo Burnett, Bill Hurter, editor of Rangefinder and AfterCapture photography magazines and David Leigh, owner of Chicago art gallery, Morpho Gallery. The judges reviewed the submitted images online during a three week voting period before making their final selections.</p>
<p>Awards were presented in five categories - people, places, nature, still-life and alteration of reality. The thirty winners come from Argentina, Australia, Canada, Netherlands and 13 states in the U.S.</p>
<p>Awards will be presented at the print exhibit’s opening reception on June 4, 2010 at <a href="http://www.morphogallery.com/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.morphogallery.com');">Morpho</a> Gallery in Chicago</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This year of bad economic news reminded me of past days when I had to make do with what I had. Christmas would come (as the Grinch would say)&#8221;&#8230; without packages boxes or bags&#8221;.  Just a few cheap strings of lights and some nails to hang them on was all I had to brighten my apartment and make it feel festive. Those Christmas days of the past are just as fondly remembered as some of the more recent ones. </p>
<p>I created this image for my 2009 card in memory of a simpler time.</p>
